Tunjung Mas was established in 2001 and generated sales of $100,000 last year. The company targets the mid range and high end markets and ships entire output abroad. The EU region, particularly France, accounts for 40 per cent of exports. The rest is delivered to USA, Australia and Singapore.
OEM orders make up 80 per cent of production.
Shoes are the primary items produced, accounting for 70 per cent of turnout. The company also manufactures handbags, belts, scarves and wallets. The majority of models are handmade.
The shoes type available by the company is casual only. The prices start at $15 and can be high as $200. A lady shoes made completely of leather and came in plain style is offered at $11.76 per pair. Womens boots made of suede upper and cowhide outsole can be offered at $200 per pair.
Main materials are skins from cow, sheep, goat and snake. They are procured from local distributors in Denpasar (Bali).
The owner works closely with buyers for customizations orders. Alone, she may creates up four new models per month. Samples are completed within a week.
The company maintains a 300sqm factory in Badung (Bali) and separately one showroom in Kuta (Badung, Bali). All stages of production from material preparation to finishing are done in house. The factory houses sewing machines imported from China. There are eight full time and six temporary employees. Two personnel carry out QC on each stages of production.
Up to 3,000 pairs are completed every month. The average monthly production is 800 pairs.
The minimum order requirement is 20 pairs per model. Delivery time is usually 14 days. Plastic bags and silica gels are commonly used as packaging.
